I began shooting in 1999 after being hired by a client to do a website. My first camera was a Nikon N65 (Film), and I have been a Nikon shooter ever since. I have owned the N65, N80, F100, F5, D70, D50, D80, D200, D300, D700, and D4. The lens list is much longer. I retired from semi-professional photography in 2018. If I could do it all again, I would save up for the kit that I have now, instead of going through so many different bodies and lenses.
My current kit is a Nikon D4, Nikkor 24-70 2.8 G ED, Nikkor 80-200 2.8 AF-S, and Nikkor 50mm 1.8 G. The 16MP of the D4 gives me 11x14's straight out of the camera, and I have printed 3x2 feet canvas prints with no problem whatsoever.
Today, I usually just use the kit to photograph my growing daughter or for art projects.
